Check out the August 2010 issue of People Magazine and turn to page 86 to see Master Trainer Chris Poljacik training his client, snowboarder superstar Kevin Pearce. Kevin was one of the few to have beaten snowboarder deity Shaun White but then in December sustained a serious injury to the heart of the brain that controls bodily functions, movement, memory, problem solving and decsion making skills.
Many of our PFP Trainers are familiar with the Movement Training Specialist (MTS) course and certification that Chris and his wife Jen Poljacik offer and teach throughout Canada and the USA. When an athlete of this caliber with this type of injury and his family made the decision to utilize the services of Chris to be an integral part of the rehabilitation process, it just confirmed to me again, how extraordinary this program is and how important it is for Trainers to know this information.
Contact us for more inforamtion on how your staff can work with Chris to attain their MTS certification.

In 1985 on a student budget, Jeff Russo hitchhiked across Canada and then down to Venice Beach California to see and experience first hand where his sub culture fitness heroes like Arnold, Franco, Sergio, Dave Draper and other iron legends trained. He spent several summers at beaches and hard core gyms throughout the States. Below is a picture of Jeff at 23 years of age in Wildwood New Jersey at Atilis Gym getting ready for a contest.
Jeff has never forgotten where his original inspiration for this industry originated. In 2004 he created a Fitness Hall of Fame for major contributors to the health and fitness industry in Canada and handed out the first award to 83 year old Mack Miya who opened the first ever health emporium in Toronto in 1946. Click here for more information on the career of this remarkable fitness icon.
On Saturday August 7th, Jeff attended the Neutron Fitness and Sports Canadian Championships for drug free bodybuilding in Oshawa Ontario. He was there to support his friend and sponsored athlete, 66 year old Michael Lanoue. Michael was Jeff's sales manager in the early 90's and a friendship was struck stemming out of a shared passion and love of bodybuilding. Michael who suffers from a rare blood disease where he no longer produces red blood cells, combined with diabetes and kidneys that are barely functioning, continues to train and compete earning respect from doctors and specialists who are amazed that he's still with us. Congratulations to Michael who took 2nd place in the Masters over 60 category and looks to compete again in November at the IDFA (International Drug Free Association) in Toronto.
Jeff will also be at the 2010 WBFF World Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships on September 18th at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga Ontario. Pro Fitness Master Trainer Emily Sterling from Performance Health and Fitness in Chatham will be defending her figure championship, and we invite all of our Ontario clients to join us in supporting her quest to repeat as champion. She is trained by her husband and fellow Master Trainer Matt Stirling who has won numerous world championships.
